The common thread throughout Howard Griffith’s life is the fact that he ran into obstacles at every juncture, but he continued to persevere, no matter what. Instead of giving up or feeling sorry for himself, he would focus, set new goals and make a plan on how to achieve them.
Howard Griffith is able to offer strategies on how to build a successful team through analogies based on his personal life experiences and his professional career. He has the unique ability to connect with audiences because he identifies with many of the same obstacles that teams in organizations face. There are a myriad of parallels between his career as a professional football player on winning and losing teams, and the organizational structures of companies facing the uncertainties and ups and downs of today’s economy.
In Howard’s “Team Talks,” he reflects on three events that have occurred in his life that have molded and shaped him into the Total Team Player that he is today. Through his growing pains, words of encouragement and heartfelt advice, he is able to connect with audiences, get them to focus, and help them create a new Playbook that leads to success - - success for the team; for all employees as well as the organization overall.
